DevaDrishti ("we", "our", or "us") is a Vedic Jyotish platform providing birth chart analysis, personalised dasha predictions, and astrological guidance. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
By using DevaDrishti, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name and email address via email/password sign-up or Google OAuth.
Birth data: To generate your Vedic birth chart, we collect your date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth (city, latitude, longitude, and timezone). This is the core data required for astrological calculations.
Usage data: We collect information about how you use the platform — tabs visited, features used, and session activity — to improve the service.
Life events: If you choose to record life events (marriage, career changes, etc.) within the platform, this data is stored in your profile.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data exclusively to provide and improve DevaDrishti:
- Generate your Vedic birth chart, Navamsha, and Vimshottari Dasha timeline
- Produce personalised monthly predictions based on your chart and current dasha period
- Enable the AI chart consultation feature
- Send account-related emails (password reset, receipts)
- Improve calculation accuracy and platform features
We do
not sell your data. We do not use your birth data for advertising. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as described below.
4. Astrological Predictions
Your personalised predictions are generated using a locally hosted AI model running on our own infrastructure. Your birth data and chart details are never sent to external AI providers for prediction generation. The AI model processes data entirely within our system.
The AI chat feature (Chart Chat) runs on a locally hosted language model on our own infrastructure. Your chart data and conversation are processed entirely within our system and are never transmitted to external AI providers.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on AWS infrastructure with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit. Row-level security policies ensure that each user can only access their own data.
We implement industry-standard security practices including authenticated API access, rate limiting, and error monitoring (Sentry) to detect and respond to issues promptly.
6. Third-Party Services
We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate the Platform, including services for authentication, payment processing, and hosting. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to perform services on our behalf. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data
- Correction — update inaccurate data in your profile
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Portability — request an export of your chart data

8. Data Retention
We retain your account and chart data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated statistical data may be retained indefinitely.
9. Children's Privacy
DevaDrishti is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
